Ryan F. Mccarty

Ryan F. McCarty was born in Dayton, Ohio on December 01, 1978.  He attended and graduated from The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina on May 12, 2001.  While at The Citadel, Ryan was a member of the Cadre, Dean’s List, Commandant’s List and President’s List for both academic and military achievement.  Following his graduation from The Citadel, Ryan attended law school at the University of Dayton, and graduated in 2005. 

After his graduation, Ryan and his wife moved to the Greer area, where Ryan began working as an Assistant Solicitor under Solicitor Trey Gowdy in the Seventh Circuit Solicitor’s Office.  During his six years tenure as an Assistant Solicitor, Ryan prosecuted hundreds of cases including DUI, Forgery, Burglary, Larceny, Financial Transaction Card Fraud and Theft, Drug Trafficking, Drug Distribution and PWID, Simple Possession, Assault and Battery and Murder.  During Ryan’s last year at the Solicitor’s Office, he was promoted to the level of a Supervisor and was responsible for the prosecution of drug-related offenses in Spartanburg County. 

Ryan became an associate of Burts Turner & Rhodes in January 2012.  Ryan continues practicing criminal law as a criminal defense attorney; however, he also is involved in the general practice, to include personal injury, family law, probate, and civil litigation.
